Our clients have come to count on us for the emotional support that helps them rise above their circumstances and thrive. But sometimes the obstacles they face are basic and essential needs such as food and clothing.

The Esther Lewin Emergency Survival Fund assists women and their families in severe need with food, essentials, and bus tokens to help them access counseling or go to a job interview and meet emergency needs. The Emergency Survival Fund is named in honor of a longtime NCJW member, dedicated volunteer and paraprofessional Talkline counselor who offered a reassuring voice for callers.

The Holiday Gift Program provides food vouchers from local supermarkets to clients of our counseling programs and callers to our Talkline. Your generosity helps provide a holiday dinner to a family in need to brighten their celebrations.

Clothing Vouchers are provided throughout the year to individuals returning to the workforce or needing back-to-school clothing for their children. Thanks to the generosity of our Council Thrift Shops, WHW is able to provide these clothing vouchers to those in need. NCJW/LA collaborates with over 20 agencies like SOVA, PATH, Jewish Family Services, Saban Free Clinic, City of West Hollywood Human Services Department, and GLASS in order to serve the needs of the community by providing vouchers to NCJW/LA Council Thrift Shops.

Annual Clothing Giveaway and Resource Fair is usually held the first Sunday in December providing over 30,000 pieces of clothing, toys and books for over 2,000 people. The resource fair provides information about services from the Saban Free Clinic, LA Gay and Lesbian Center, PATH, City of West Hollywood and other organizations and agencies.
