Our trained volunteers staff under-funded Title 1 public elementary school libraries, thereby enabling over 3,000 children to discover the joys of reading and literacy. To address critical, unmet library needs, our library volunteers provide weekly story time to visiting classes. Volunteers assist students in navigating their way around the library as they seek books for both school projects and personal pleasure. We strive to promote the joy and growth discovered through reading. NCJW/LA improves library collections by replacing lost and worn books at participating elementary schools in Los Angeles, West Hollywood, and the San Fernando Valley.
